Sylvia was born and raised in the international port city of Guayaquil, Ecuador.

During her childhood and teenage years she traveled widely in Europe and the Americas, developing a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, art forms, and (most of all) people.

Along the way she picked up a camera and has been shooting ever since.
